Sweet Empire's Mother's Day Breakfast Bar

As promised, tonight we will be sharing a few gorgeous images from 'Sweet Empire's' FIRST Mother's Day Breakfast Bar photoshoot. Last weekend, we were asked to create some florals for this lovely event, Enjoy!

The moment we stepped through Catherine's door all we could smell was the sweet aroma wafting from the kitchen.... She had been up baking till 2am the night before! The room was a foodie's delight, it was filled with hand-made sweet treats including: scrumptious yoghurt muesli & berry pots, banana and coconut muffins, mini quiches, mouth watering berry smoothies, marshmallows, musk sticks, mini custard tarts, and beautiful cups of tea, all made with the key ingredient = LOVE!

These gorgeous 'Love you Mum' tags were designed by the lovely Lajari, and if you would like to surprise Mum this Sunday with some personal printables, you can request your FREE set by liking 'Lajari' on Facebook and emailing info@lajari.com.au.

Last but not least, a HUGE thank you goes out to the wonderful Hayley from 'Photography by Hayley Holness' without her and her amazing camera skills, this shoot would not have come to life.

Excting new product in store next week.. Just in time for Mother's Day!

The team at Velvet Lily are waiting patiently for the arrival of our gorgeous 'Skeem Candles"- Here is a little information about this product, and be sure to stay tuned on our Facebook page for the announcement for when they have arrived in store!

THE COMPANY: Graphic designer Geoff Weiser and former retail buyer, Suji Meswani, are the co-owners of Skeem Candles. Prior to launching the Skeem brand in 2004, this Philadelphia based husband and wife team, did more than a year of research and development to perfect the wax formulation, develop the scents and colors and, of course, create the candles themselves. The name “Skeem”? Well, it is a play on words and the company is named after the couple’s “scheme” to break free from the corporate world. The rich, colorful designs and unique long-lasting scents are inspired by their vast travels which include three to four annual trips to exotic locales such as, India, Costa Rica, and Thailand.

SKEEM CANDLES: Their gorgeous candles are are made in the USA. The glasses are silk-screened, and each candle is topped with a printed metal lid. Our wax is a soy blend and our wicks are cotton.

BURNING INSTRUCTIONS: Please respect the presence of fire while using your candles. To ensure the candle does not get too hot and to minimize soot and smoke, please keep your wick trimmed to 1/4”. Never burn a candle for more than 3 hours at a time and be aware that outside factors, such as drafts, fans, heat, and cold can affect the way a candle burns. Always use caution while burning your candle, keep away from children and pets, and never leave a burning candle unattended.

WAX REMOVAL: To remove the last bit of remaining wax left in the glass, place glass in freezer overnight. Gently bang glass upside down to pop out wax. Please thoroughly clean your glass before using it as a drinking glass.

Here at Velvet Lily Florist- We like to maintain a high reputation with a 'no compromise' approach that ensures your wedding is truly unforgettable for both you and your guests.

Creating bridal flowers for a friend is always an honour. Hannah & Tim were married in March. They had a gorgeous cermeony in the gardens at Ripponlea Estate, followed by an intimate affair at The Point, Albert Park.

TRIPLE SCENTED CANDLE

Glasshouee candles are designed to deliver stunning fragrances and are one of, if not, the strongest scented candles available. When creating the product, every fragrance combination must pass the 'can we really smell frangrance when we enter a room' test. The collection is inspired by the places from which their fragrance names were derived. The range is extensive, with beautiful and ntoxicating fragrance blends.

THE GLASSHOUSE CONTAINER

The signature Glasshouse container is special for several reasons. The lid of your candle jar is a snuffer. Use it to extinguish the flame by replacing it snuggly on the jar. The glass jar itself is reusable and great for cotton balls, buds or buttons. Simply wipe with a dry paper towel while the wax is still warm and then wash as you would any dish, with soap and water. If residue still exists repeat the process. Its also 100% recyclable.

NON TOXIC FOOD GRADE PARAFFIN

This wax is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and this type of wax is commonly used in candy, ice cream coating, and coating for hard cheese, medical applications as well as skin care products. Food-grade paraffin is commonly used for manufacturing candles and, in fact, only the best producers in the world use this wax because it holds the highest percentage, variety and complexity of fragrances.

DOUBLE-WICK SYSTEM

Glasshouse candles burn evenly to the bottom of the container because the two wicks allow the entire surface to liquefy. This also enables fast fragrance delivery.
